Kim Mercado, CBRE’s Global Director of Operations for Research, has more than 18 years’ experience providing research and analysis for clients, and has worked for CBRE since 2005. In her global role, Kim has strategic operational responsibility for Global Research, including oversight of the regional research operational platforms. Kim provides operational leadership, ensuring coordination and collaboration on multi-regional initiatives, and contributes to the strategic planning process.
In her previous role with CBRE, Kim was a Director of the Asia Pacific Research team, leading the Office, Retail, Industrial and Luxury Residential Markets teams within Asia Pacific Research. Her role was to oversee the analysis of these markets from an occupier perspective.
Kim joined CBRE Canada in 2005 as National Senior Research Analyst. Promoted in 2008, Kim managed a team of 35 research analysts across Canada as National Director of Research for the Canadian platform. In this role, Kim was a frequent contributor to real estate publications, presenter at client briefings and company spokesperson. Kim was also integral to the CBRE Econometric Advisors/CBRE Research Canada joint initiative, providing invaluable market insight and support to the Boston-based econometric forecasting team and clients. In both of her previous roles, Kim frequently commented on topical issues related to the commercial real estate market in print and broadcast media.
Kim brings with her the knowledge and experience she gained as Cushman & Wakefield’s Senior Market Analyst for the Greater Toronto Area.
Kim began her career at RBC Financial Group in 1994. The majority of her time there was spent as an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group, where she provided industry and company research and analysis. Participating in all aspects of deal transactions, she was involved in numerous acquisitions and dispositions during her time with the bank.
Kim received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
