As vice president in CBRE’s Retail Partnership’s business, Kevin Marschall will lead the firm’s store-within-a-store consulting and advising services on a nationwide basis. He is based in Chicago.
In this unique position to the commercial real estate industry, Marschall will work directly with host retailers and smaller co-locating retailers to develop store-within-a-store concepts and partnerships. This emerging trend is a marketing, merchandising and co-branding strategy utilized by Big Box/Department Store merchants to monetize underperforming retail space.
Marschall joined the firm in February 2017 after six years with Sears Holding Corporation as director of business development and strategic partnerships, licensed business. In this role, his efforts produced $42 million in annual net income as he built a portfolio and developed new business partnerships within Sears stores with various specialty retailers, restaurants, demonstration vendors, auto service providers, financial services, and travel partners.
He has previous real estate experience at Grubb & Ellis Company where he worked with the firm’s corporate services and retail group.
Marschall has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BA from Mercer University.
