Chrissy Harbison is a versatile project manager with extensive design and construction management experience both working for a General Contractor and in a Corporate Real Estate group. Chrissy also has significant experience in business transition and relocation management of large complex projects. She has managed tenant build out, laboratory, and healthcare projects both locally as well as nationally. She brings clients more than 15 years of experience with responsibilities including: leading client engagements, collecting project requirements, design, developing scopes of work, creating project budgets and schedules, coordinating consultants, monitoring of budget-to-actual project performance, reporting progress to owners and tenants, administrating project construction and closeout and planning and coordinating relocation activities.
Since joining CBRE, Chrissy has most recently completed the restack/relocation of 500 employees within the Discovery Headquarters building. Other large relocation projects include the relocation of 750 employees for the McKesson Medical Surgical Headquarters in Richmond, VA, the relocation of 500 employees for Under Armour in Baltimore, MD, and the ongoing restack/relocation of Steptoe & Johnson, LLC as they renovate their existing building in Washington, DC.
Project Management projects include a LEED Platinum build out for HDR architecture as well as multiple tenant improvement projects for clients such as Iridium Satellite LLC, Aecom, IPM and EMPEA.
Prior to joining CBRE, Inc. Chrissy was a Project Manager/Designer within the real estate group of a multinational corporation located in South Florida. As part of the team, her focus included space strategy, design, project management and business transition move management for $70 million in project costs for the corporation’s separation of its two operating units consisting of 1.8 million square feet in 206 locations. These projects involved facility refreshes, new construction and restacking of corporate facilities. Responsibilities included Project Planning, Scheduling, Budgeting, Design, Management and Procurement of FF&E, IT/AV, Construction Management and Move Management. She managed all project financials with a history or bringing projects in within or under budget. Her role also included working with the real estate transition team in negotiating workletter terms, build out allowances and communications with the landlords.
Chrissy’s previous experience includes working with a national construction firm as a project and business transition move manager. Her projects included the relocation of employees and FF&E for multiple facilities for the FDA. She was also a project manager and business transition and move manager for NIH projects such as a BSL-3 Laboratory at Ft. Detrick, MD, Pharmacy & Phlebotomy Lab, Building 6 (on campus), US Patent & Trademark office and St. Elizabeth Hospital. Chrissy’s design, management, business and construction expertise has enabled her to develop holistic project strategies and tactical plans delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
Ms. Harbison has been recognized for her contribution to projects with multiple Employee of the Quarter and Employee of Excellence Awards.
McCormick Headquarters – Hunt Valley, MD – New headquarters facility for international seasonings manufacturer. Scope of the project includes relocation from four locations in the Baltimore are into a new headquarters 352,568 sf.
Discovery – Multi-phased restack of 500 employees within their current headquarters building.
PCAOB – 2 year engagement to relocate/restack their existing building while it is being renovated floor by floor.
Steptoe & Johnson – Six phased renovation of major Washington DC Law firm. Long term renovation involving base building and interior construction, new and reused furniture. Complex phasing with strict time constraints for each of the project phasing.
McKesson – The relocation of the McKesson Medical Surgical headquarters located in Richmond, VA. This was a fast tracked project consisting of two move phases and 750 employees. It was completed on time and under budget with a high customer satisfaction rate.
Under Armour – The relocation of 500 employees from the main Under Armour campus in Baltimore to a new building in Port Covington. The transition involved the activation of a new cafeteria and gym, and the coordination/management of the “master punchlist” for the entire project that included construction, furniture and technology.
Aecom – Two multi-phased building renovations/restacks in Tampa, FL and Arlington, VA. The Arlington project involved detailed space programming to restack more than 30 different groups within an existing 5 story space. Two of the five floors were fully renovated and converted to open plan. The Tampa project was a consolidation of 6 floors into three renovated floors.
HDR Architecture – Construction of a LEED Platinum office space in Clarendon, VA. The space was designed by the client to showcase internal talent while attracting new clientele. The space is the main office for HDR Architecture in the DC Metro Area.
NIH - Multiple relocation/activation projects including a BSL-3 Laboratory, and the Pharmacy & Phlebotomy Labs in Building 10.
