Professional Experience

Chris Gerard is a Senior Vice President within CBRE’s National Retail Partners (NRP).  Based in the Dallas office, Mr. Gerard is engaged in the execution of retail investment sales primarily in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and occasionally in other markets to serve his client’s investment goals.

Mr. Gerard represents both institutional and private clients on the disposition and acquisition of retail shopping centers. Since 2006, he has personally directed the sale of more than 44 million square feet of retail properties worth in excess of $6.05 billion.   Mr. Gerard’s most notable transactions include: InvenTrust Portfolio of 3 Texas Power Centers (2018), DFW Grocery Portfolio of 9 Dallas Grocery Centers (2015), Hines Portfolio of 2 Grocery Centers in San Antonio and Houston (2016), Lincoln Heights (2018), Shops at the Galleria (2016), Timber Creek Shopping Center (2017 and 2011), Alamo Ranch (2011), North Shore & Lamar Union mixed use centers in Austin (2018 & 2017).  Mr. Gerard has received numerous awards and recognition for his work throughout his career and is regularly recognized by CBRE America’s Top 20% Producers, CBRE Dallas’ Top 20 Producers and D CEO’s Power Brokers. 

Prior to joining CBRE in 2006, Mr. Gerard worked on retail acquisitions and development for Archon Group with experience on over 3 million square feet of retail development and over $200 million in retail and land acquisitions. This prior experience gives Mr. Gerard a multi-faceted skill set, which he applies to each marketing campaign.  Mr. Gerard has a business degree from Southern Methodist University, class of 2003.
